Animals have always been on our Earth as long as anyone can remember. A long time ago the first ever dinosaur crawled onto the land and began the existence of the beasts we now know as the animals of today. Back then almost everything was in harmony. But now thousands of years later we humans have begun to hunt these animals for many needless reasons. When we come to the Sai center we are taught to be kind to all living things. May they be smaller than us or even bigger than us. But even though we are being taught this, many others do the exact opposite of this. Unfortunately most of these needless killings are done for the fun of it. This then results in the animal becoming endangered. But does this stop the killings? Not on your life! When an animal become endangered all it does is cause more people to hunt it because of its rarity. I think of poaching like cigarettes because once you start you just can’t stop yourself from being drawn to another cigar. It’s just like poaching. Once someone kills an animal they want to do it again even if their conscience tells them to resist the urge to go into the woods and kill another harmless animal for the fun of it. Luckily there are organizations which protect these animals from being hunted down. I believe that if more of us do something about it we may prevent people from wiping all animals from the face of the Earth. Now I know that most people who read this will just think that I’m too obsessive over animals, but just think for a minute what the world would be like without these animals around. No dogs or pets to keep you company. I know that this reason doesn’t sound all that convincing but there are many more reasons that are very important. And my hopes are that if you read this you may learn to respect the important values of both life and nonviolence.
